Marine Protection (%)

The indicator can be used to assess how far countries are from the Aichi Target 11 of having 10% of coastal and marine areas covered by wellconnected systems of protected areas. Inversely, the information highlights where on the globe additional efforts are most needed in expanding or reinforcing the coverage by protected areas.
